Even the simplest wedding can take considerable planning and raise many questions about tradition and etiquette. Here are a few of my favorite books for answering questions and keeping planning on track so that the whole wedding experience is easier and more enjoyable!
Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette
by Peggy Post
A treasure trove of information. This book has chapters ranging from “Engagement Etiquette” to “After the Wedding”, and everything in between. It carefully guides you through the wedding experience, outlining the process, explaining who is responsible for what, and how to handle some of those tricky situations. It not only explains traditions from the past, but mentions some of the trends in 21st century weddings. If I had to pick just one wedding book to plan with and answer questions about an upcoming wedding. This would be the one.
Your Stress Free Wedding Planner
Judy Allen
Here’s a handy tool for planning, scheduling, and generally keeping things flowing smoothly in the days leading up to your wedding day. This sturdy ring bound book includes four tabbed sections: Designing Your Wedding, Planning Your Wedding, Coordinating Your Wedding, and Worksheets and Checklists. With a wealth of handy places to keep critical information such as the Wedding party contact info and supplier info, plus really handy worksheets for things like music (what to play, what NOT to play), menu planning, and payments made to wedding suppliers you can stay on top of it all. With this book in hand no need to reinvent the wheel, or carry around hundreds of scraps of paper that might get mislaid or disorganized. Oh, and that reminds me, there are handy pockets on each tab, and in the front, for tucking in brochures, business cards receipts, etc. as you go about your business.
Also included are lots of handy tips, a guide to envisioning your wedding, timelines and so much more. A great tool for the bride and groom who do not want to miss a trick!
